3 reasons why you should use a booking system in your library

Updated: Feb 29

To ensure that students are welcomed in the best possible conditions, many universities are equipping their libraries with seat reservation systems, especially since the pandemic.

Make it easy for everyone to get organised and find their place

When there are no places left, students know that they won't be able to get in and avoid travelling unnecessarily. As far as the library is concerned, you can avoid dissatisfaction linked to full capacity.

Still with a view to adapting, you can free up places by the user's autonomous presence validation. If the user does not validate their presence on site at the time of their reservation, their reservation is cancelled. Another person can then book the vacated place.

Avoiding queues

Once the capacity is reached, you will not be able to admit any more students. Queues will inevitably form - you hope that someone will leave before you can get in - as can be seen in some overcrowded libraries in Paris. Fortunately, they work with us now !

Queues should be avoided: they are difficult to manage and a source of tension for your staff. A good booking software make it possible to eliminate queues by controlling the number of people accepted for a half-day or a full day.

Prioritise bookings for YOUR students

In the context of limited places and growing number of students, you can give priority to your students by applying reservation restrictions using your university's domain name. Only students with a corresponding university email address will then be able to reserve in your libraries.
